About your session

Hi there!

When you call to set your appointment, we'll discuss whether you would prefer a studio session or an on location session. Combination studio+location sessions are very popular, providing for a wide variety of studio and natural light looks. If your family has some land, having your outdoor session on your family's property would be great and would certainly be memorable. I can also recommend some local parks and other fun areas for portrait shoots.

When you call to select your session type, we'll schedule a date and have the parent pre-pay the session fee. Once your session has been completed and your images have been edited for presentation, you will set an appointment to come view and place your order. Orders are to be paid in full at time of order or an easy payment plan can be set up. Please inquire for further details.

When is the best time to schedule your senior session? For seniors wishing to submit an image to the yearbook (which is usually mid-October), sessions during July-September are ideal. While we can certainly schedule at any time during the year, the early and later summer months do have the best weather and there's not a yearbook deadline rush to deal with!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Stacey

Session fee is to be paid in advance to book session, sessions can certainly be rescheduled if needed. Checks and VISA/MC are accepted.

Yearbook deadline:  Most area schools require the yearbook image by  mid-October or early November at the latest, please schedule your session early!

What to wear

I suggest bringing a big bag of your favorite outfits and accessories -- I'm not kidding! We can pick outfits and accessories to match or compliment outdoor settings as well as compliment studio backdrops. Bring casual, casual-dressy, and dressy -- whatever best represents your own personal style. Hats, jewelry, scarves, instruments, prom dresses, and sport equipment all make great additions to the photo shoot. For outdoor sessions, you can bring along your dog or we could meet and photograph you with your horse.

Please iron clothes and try on outfits before the session to check on fit and style.

What else to bring:  Chapstick, lip gloss, brush, tissue, make-up, mirror

Before your session

--Have a recent hair cut and color two weeks before session.

--Try on portrait outfits beforehand; do they look good both sitting and standing? Is it a good fit? Is it a good color?  Do both parents and seniors like the outfit?

--Make sure either new fingernail polish is applied or old and chipped polish is removed.

--Do a trial run with makeup. Better yet, get your makeup and hair professionally styled before the session!  Even if your female senior does not regularly wear makeup I would suggest a good moisturizer, light foundation and/or concealer, Carmex or slightly tinted chapstick, eyeliner on upper eyelid and mascara.

--Guys, don't forget to shave before the session, and make sure either jeans are long enough to not show too much sock when sitting or wear dark socks.  Make sure dressier shirts have been ironed.

What is a print release?

Your purchase of digital images on CD includes a print release. This means that you, the client, has permission to print as many images as you like, post them online, and email them. Photo labs may require to see your print release before printing. Your copy of the release is included on the CD. Your print release also offers very important information about getting the best use out of your digital files, how to archive them, and the best ways to share them. In this modern day, digital images have very high value due to the importance of the Internet and all the social media sharing sites available. The very popular desire to have digital images on CD and the time spent processing, editing, touching up the files, and the ability to make unlimited prints is reflected in the package price.

A note about yearbook submission

Purchase must be made to have image submitted to yearbook - session fee does not include an yearbook photo. Clients who receive digital images will submit their own yearbook image to yearbook staff.  Or by request Stacey can submit image.  Clients who purchase print package will have Stacey submit an image from the package to the yearbook staff.   Please have yearbook email address and deadline available at session or ordering appointment.  Area schools look for close-ups or 3/4 shots; I always include these poses in our session.

A note about retouching and processing of your digital images

Each image is processed for excellent color balance, contrast, brightness, clarity and retouching of a small number of blemishes and marks is included at no extra charge. Extensive retouching (please inquire) is offered at no charge only on images with a print purchase (i.e. the prints that are included in a package, a la carte prints, with touched up digital copies on CD). Additional extensive retouching on digital images that are not also ordered as prints is offered at $10 per image.

Can you bring your friend to the session?

Yes! Along with your mother or father (or by yourself with their permission), you can bring along 1-2 of your best buds. They can hold the reflector and make you laugh ;) We can also take group shots at the end of the session.

About Stacey

Stacey lives in Tumwater with her husband Chad, her twelve-year-old son Hunter, eight-year-old daughter Seraphine, and their two cats Petals and Mr. Fluffy Charles.  Hunter loves sports and piano playing and Seraphine is a dancing dynamite.  Our cat Petals looks nothing like a flower while Mr. Fluffy Charles is actually fluffy.  I love working and meeting senior and their parents -- I look forward to hearing from you!
